A velvety fusion of soft rock, R&B, jazz and funk. Dexterous, swerving and soulful but never self-serious.

“Meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow.
        — Thundercat

Thundercat (aka Stephen Bruner) first picked up the bass at age four. He practiced along to the Ninja Turtles soundtrack until his dad, ex-Temptations drummer Ronald Bruner Sr, introduced him to jazz. By his teens he was playing bass with thrash legends Suicidal Tendencies. Now he’s spent studio time with everyone from Herbie Hancock and Erykah Badu to HAIM, Ty Dolla $ign and Kendrick Lamar. His music can be as smooth as it is abstract—bursting with skittering grooves, deep funk and often cartoonish humour. Now he’s bringing his six-stringed bass and wide-eyed vibe RISING.
