CALL OUT : MULTITUD

Thu 14 April

Join a cross-continental collective, 9 years in the making. Along with 70 fellow local participants you’ll create the next iteration of this internationally acclaimed, movement-based performance work.

Multitud is a movement-based performance developed with the local community during RISING. People of all ages, backgrounds and abilities are invited to join the Multitud collective—a cross-continental group of performers, bound by 9 years of Multitud iterations in Uruguay, Brazil, Spain, USA, Belgium, and more.

You will work with Uruguayan choreographer Tamara Cubas and 70 fellow participants, over an 8-day workshop, split into two 4-day blocks. As a participant, Cubas will guide you to devise and discover Multitud’s sound, movement and energy in a supportive and collaborative process. Multitud’s movement and physicality will be tailored to the abilities of each performer. The rehearsals will culminate in two public performances at Melbourne Town Hall on 11 and 12 June.

Each iteration of Multitud is unique and reflective of the individuals that make up its mass, with participants able to choose how they engage with the process. It examines the power that lies within all humans; and our ability to affect and be affected by each other’s actions.
