Creating places for living, breathing communities to come together.
VIA Architects joined RISING as a major partner for the 2024 festival. The two organisations have a natural alignment in terms of ethos around design, creativity and innovative placemaking.
While architecture and arts festivals are different sectors, both RISING and VIA create places for living, breathing communities to come together.
Watch the video with RISING Co-Artistic Director and CEO, Hannah Fox, and VIA Architects Managing Director Frank Bambino and Director Mark Allan, to hear how human-centred design is key to festival design and architecture.
VIA Architects is an award-winning, multidisciplinary architecture and design studio with a national portfolio. They're known for human-centric design philosophies and commitment to challenging the status quo.
“We share quite a lot of common ground VIA as architects and RISING as a festival, although we do very different things. Both organisations think about design and particularly human centred design in very different but crossing over ways. So for us, when we're building sites, we're thinking about where people might feel comfortable to dance, how they might access a space, what's appealing in the middle of winter, and in their case they're thinking much more about that from a long-term design perspective. ”
“What VIA Architects does, we’re an organisation that likes to deliver meaningful buildings. Human-centred design is to actually benefit the spaces that humans engage with.”
