But Tirzah’s latest release trip9love is just the wraith-like beauty of her voice, plus one scattering beat and a detuned piano that sounds dipped down the bottom of the well. She and collaborator-producer Mica Levi tweak the BPM, warp the EQ and crust up the distortion until you’re down the well with them. Too enthralled to climb out. Too hypnotised to stop dancing. Suffice to say, the Essex native is one of the most compelling, original songwriters working.
