Flow State at Home
Enter the stream of our sonic bathing experience from your own tub.
No artwork at RISING 2021 was quite like Flow State. Only accessible through a lottery, the work—by artists Sarah Retallick and Amanda Roff—asked participants to depart the banks of the Birrarung (Yarra) river in a boat destined for Herring Island. On their arrival participants were led through the bush to a private, sound-emitting bathtub equipped with speakers specially designed to vibrate the fluid tissue, skull and inner ear nerves.
With its run cut short, and following thousands of entries to the draw, we thought it only right to share with you a piece of what made it special.
